Pan Pacs and Upcoming Changes

So, since my last post I have made up my mind to continue on to go and compete in the upcoming Pan Pacific Championships. This will be held in Irvine, California from the 18th to the 21 of August. I felt that 2 weeks more of training in the grand scheme of things would not be as important as what I stand to gain by competing at this highest level and from what I will learn about my body and how it reacts to training and rest. So basically this is a chance to race the best, so lets do it! Sound familiar anyone “Raceclub!” Also if I swim well, I will know that my body responds favorably to an extended rest/taper. If so, I will apply this to my preparations for the next Olympics.
Right now as I am writing this I am back home in Trinidad, having packed up and left my former training base in Auburn. I am especially grateful for what I have learned there and there is no doubt that Auburn has had a positive impact on shaping me into the athlete that I am today., but I felt it was time to move. Like the water that i am trying to master, I tend to stagnate when in one place for too long.
I will base my self in the Caribbean again but will go on extended training and racing trips. I now plan after the my next meet to move to further my swimming in Madrid under the guidance of Bart Kisierowski. Its always a risk, but I have only 2 years to do this right and I feel that this is worth the risk.
I have been training lightly in the Ocean and in the pool these last few days, in Grenada, Barbados and now Trinidad.
If you are interested please take a look at some videos that I have just made of me training. The footage was taken in during my last days in Auburn last week.
